BAE Systems winning its case for the defence

BAE Systems launched into 2025 with serious momentum, backed by strong defence demand and a record-breaking order book.

Full-year targets were unchanged in last week’s trading statement, signalling confidence in how things are shaping up. Growth in sales and profits are both expected to push toward 10% this year if all goes well.

BAE is the UK’s largest defence company, manufacturing heavy-duty military equipment such as fighter jets, aircraft and submarines.

With global tensions still high, many governments are expected to keep increasing their defence budgets. BAE is in a good position to benefit from that extra spending.
