Records broken in Josh's triumph

The competition for the President's Trophy was a singles Stableford and new levels were set by Disley assistant professional Josh Crumplin throughout the series concluded with a stunning record round to clinch the Order of Merit title.

Josh began with an eagle three on the first hole and added plenty of birdies and just one bogey to finish with 60 and 47 points.

It was a course record and an Alliance record in its Centenary Year with the President delighted to present the President's Trophy to Josh as well as his Order of Merit prize.

His closest followers in the professional competition were fellow Disley pros Ian Ridgway 41 and Scott Jackson 40 who won a cpo from Jamie Howarth (Davenport) the OoM runner-up.

The top individual amateur was Paul Traynor (Saddleworth) 42 from Matt Hill (Disley) 40 and Amateur Order of Merit winner Chris Jackson (Tytherington) who won a cpo on 39 from Tom Kirton (Prestbury).

Disley also took the nearest the pin prize won by Matt Hill.

Alison Fletcher started her year as Lady Captain of Mellor GC really well by winning the first All Members Sunday Stableford with a superb 39 points

It left her well clear of Alison Davies 32, Kate Smith 31 and Gill Southworth and Pat Phillips, both 30.
