Local groups strive to help those in need
Stirling Observer
|May 14, 2025
Just some of the support available locally to those who may feel suicidal-and for those bereaved due to suicide-was highlighted by councillors.
-
Trossachs and Teith councillor Martin Earl described the motion as "one of the most important" of the many which have come before councillors.
He said he wanted to take the opportunity to raise awareness of a charity founded in his own ward-the Canmore Trust.
He said: "It was created by the Gibson family from Callander in early 2022 and tragically that charity was born out of their own direct experience of the devastating impact that suicide has.
"The focus of the charity is suicide prevention and post-vention.
