Bypass speed limit to drop for 286 homes to be built

THE speed limit along a section of Formby Bypass will be reduced, ahead of 286 new homes being built on land next to the road.
Proposals have been put forward by Sefton Council to reduce the speed limit on the section between Woodvale and Freshfield from 60mph to 50mph.
In 2021, approval was given by Sefton Council's Planning Committee to an application for the construction of 286 new homes after the demolition of existing structures south of RAF Woodvale between Southport Road/Southport Old Road and Wham Dyke on the west side of the A565 Formby Bypass.
