TVK STATE CONFERENCE IN MADURAI: EVENT BEGINS WITH CULTURAL PERFORMANCES

Mr. Vijay is scheduled to address the cadres during the conference that is scheduled to begin around 4 p.m.

As the stage is set for the second State-level conference of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) founded by 51-year-old actor-turned-politician C. Joseph Vijay at Parapathi in Madurai district on Thursday (August 21, 2025), thousands of TVK cadres and fans of Vijay are pouring in from various parts of Tamil Nadu at the venue since Wednesday night.

The venue where seating arrangement has been made for over 1.5 lakh persons started to fill up since early morning to see and listen to the party president, Vijay.

The conference is likely to start around 4 p.m. Followed by cultural programmes, Mr. Vijay is scheduled to address the cadres walking up and down on a 300-metre-long ramp constructed in the middle of the venue. Hundreds of bouncers have been deployed on both sides of the ramp to keep the cadres at bay.

It maybe recalled that eight months after Vijay, one of the most celebrated actors of Tamil cinema, announced his foray into electoral politics by floating his party Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) in February 2024, the party hosted its first State-level conference at Vikravandi in Villupuram district of Tamil Nadu on October 27 last year.
