Faith in Families is up for Fundraiser of the Year. Meanwhile, The African Community Centre volunteers have scooped two nominations with Mojisola Olateju up for Volunteer of the Year (volunteers aged 26 or over) and David Uche lyamu up for Young Volunteer of the Year (volunteers aged 25 or under).

The Welsh Charity Awards, hosted at the Principality Stadium are an opportunity to shout about the voluntary sector in Wales, and give standout organisations and individuals some well-earned recognition.

Judges shortlisted Faith in Families for Fundraiser of the Year as it has been able to transform its community fundraising through dignity-focused campaigns.

It raised an impressive £40,000 from a single charity ball and has delivered 3,000 school backpacks to families, while replacing traditional gifts with £50 vouchers that allow recipients to choose what they need.

Their viral #HugsNotHandouts campaign helped shift public perception about poverty. Crucially, 100% of donations reach Swansea families directly.
