Radical plans for future of Castle Square revealed

WORK to revamp Swansea's Castle Square began this summer, and is now well underway.

The aim is for it to be completed by late 2026, and Swansea Council has released fresh pictures to show how it will look once finished.

Swansea's Castle Square has had many revamps over the years, from being the home of a department store in the late 19th century to a public garden post the Swansea Blitz, to the Castle Square we know today.

The leaf sculpture that once took centre stage was removed from the Castle Square as part of the preparatory work for the revamp and 8ft hoardings have been put up around the site.

Now, the council's vision is shown in new pictures, and will see the Castle Square transformed into a greener, and a more vibrant space for the city centre.
