Listed ex-office building up for grabs as a home

A GRADE-II listed building which was formerly used as office space is now up for sale as a four-storey house in a town centre street in Carmarthen.

The building, called Ty Carwyn, is located next door to Carmarthen Library in the town's St Peter's Street, which is full of shops, cafes and other businesses. It also sits next to the large St Peter's car park and directly opposite the centuries-old St Peter's Church.

For years it has been used as an administrative office and as far back as the turn of the 20th century it was known as Jeremy's Private Commercial Hotel, according to an advert placed in a local newspaper in 1901.

Having been empty for some time, the listed building is now up for sale as a five-bedroom property for less than £400,000.

Crucially it was granted planning permission last year to be transformed from an office building into a residential property.
