Fundraiser hits the heights to remember dad

A LOCAL fundraiser is taking on the incredible challenge of trekking to Everest Base Camp in memory of his late father.

William Thomas lost his dad to pancreatic cancer in November 2023 and wanted to give something back to the NHS staff who cared for him on Ward 12 at Singleton Hospital.

"My dad received great care from the team at Singleton," Will said. "He and my mother loved hiking, which is something they passed on to me. So this challenge felt like the perfect way to say thank you - by doing something that connects us while raising money for local cancer services."
