Charging plan for radio station site

THE site of an iconic old radio station which filled the airwaves for generations looks set to become an electric vehicle charging station.

Nest EV and Sustainable Energy Group has asked Swansea Council for permission to build the new facility where The Wave and Swansea Sound once operated on Victoria Road in Gowerton, Swansea.

The proposed 3,467 square metre development, still in its early planning stages, would see the existing site and car parking area transformed.

There would be a change of use of the ground floor of the building to support the station, with the first floor being used for offices. There would also be the introduction of new glazing for the ground floor elevations, and exterior material finishes.
