BBC to bring Wales-based crime duo back for another series

BBC series Death Valley has been renewed for a second series.

The BBC has confirmed that filming for the crime drama starring Timothy Spall and Gwyneth Keyworth began this week.

The unlikely crime solving duo will be making a return as retired actor John Chapel and disarming Welsh detective sergeant Janie Mallowan, alongside series one's regular cast Alexandria Riley (Helen Baxter), Steffan Rhodri (DCI Barry Clarke), Melanie Walters (Yvonne Mallowan) and Rithvik Andugula (DC Evan Chaudhry).

Set in Wales, the first series of Death Valley captivated audiences, with its launch achieving the largest UK overnight audience for a new scripted show in five years.
