KP hands backing to rising Glam star

ASHES legend Kevin Pietersen believes Glamorgan starlet Asa Tribe could be in the frame for an England call-up this summer.

There are growing calls for England to introduce some fresh blood this year following their heavy 4-1 series defeat to Australia.

And Glamorgan opener Tribe is one of the players being touted as a possible newcomer to the ranks.

Ben Stokes’ team travelled Down Under with confidence high of regaining the Ashes, but their hopes unravelled as Australia clinched the series with commanding victories in the first three Tests.

That has left a number of players who have been fixtures of the Brendon McCullum-Stokes era fearing for their international futures. Among them are the longstanding opening pair of Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett.
