Pupils enjoy a tasty tour of restaurant's kitchen garden

Children from Chew Magna Primary School swapped the classroom for the kitchen garden during a visit to The Pony restaurant, where they became mini chefs for the day.

The Key Stage One pupils, aged between five and seven, spent a morning exploring the Michelin Guide-listed venue in Chew Magna, picking herbs and edible flowers, and learning how to make their own pesto.

During the hands-on session, children also crafted flower crowns, discovered which flowers could be toxic, and were encouraged to try new flavours and ingredients.

One Year 2 pupil said: "I really enjoyed learning how to make pesto and making flower crowns because it was fun and interesting."
