Schar hints at extending Toon stay after racking up milestone

Newcastle United defender Fabian Schar made his 250th appearance for the club in Sunday's 2-0 win over Crystal Palace at St James’ Park.
The match made it 11 home games unbeaten for Newcastle and also ended a run of 12 matches without a clean sheet for the club.
Newcastle kept five clean sheets in their opening seven matches of the Premier League season, Schar helping in three of those before dropping out of the side due to a concussion.
Injuries to Sven Botman and Dan Burn have seen the Swiss defender return to the side and start the new year by hitting an impressive career milestone. Schar has made the most topflight appearances of any player in Newcastle's current squad, with only Jamaal Lascelles (253) making more appearances overall.
