The ballot for the 2026 AJ Bell Great North Run has officially closed, and organisers have confirmed it is the biggest in the event's history.

With a staggering 25% increase in applications, the world-renowned half marathon continues to captivate runners across the UK and beyond.

Scheduled for Sunday, September 13, the 2026 race marks the 45th anniversary of the iconic event.

Ballot applicants—both successful and unsuccessful - will be notified of their results today.
