What do I do if the relationship with my girlfriend has broken down and we have a baby on the way?

- Legal Eagle with Andrew Freckleton

If your relationship has broken down with the mother of your child, and you are worried she will not let you see your child when the baby is born, it is important to understand what rights you have.

Where contact with your child is concerned, the starting point should always be negotiation. It is always preferable that child arrangements are agreed between yourselves before considering making an application to court. It may be you wish to instruct a solicitor who can engage in negotiations on your behalf if your relationship with your ex-partner is not on the best terms.
