Airport takes off with a record summer of 1.3m passengers
Shields Gazette
|September 24, 2025
Newcastle Airport has celebrated its busiest summer holiday period on record, welcoming an impressive 1.3million passengers and launching flights to four new destinations.
-
Over the Scottish and English school holidays, more than 4,200 flights departed the multi-award-winning airport, marking a five per cent increase in passenger numbers compared to last year. The surge was fuelled by growing international demand and strategic airline investment, introducing new routes to Copenhagen, Berlin, Guernsey, and Agadir.
