PM joins G20 leaders in warning over Trump deal

SIR Keir Starmer and other Ukraine allies have warned that the war-torn nation must not be forced to give up land under Donald Trump's peace deal.

In a joint statement following their meeting yesterday at the G20 summit in Johannesburg, which was snubbed by the US President, they insisted the plan needed "additional work".

They also raised concerns over proposals to cut the size of Kyiv's army as part of the agreement drafted between Washington and Russia.

The Prime Minister and 12 other European and international leaders said: "We welcome the continued US efforts to bring peace to Ukraine.

"The initial draft of the 28-point plan includes important elements that will be essential for a just and lasting peace. We believe therefore that the draft is a basis which will require additional work.
