ICE cream sales are hotting up, with exotic new flavours driving the trend, figures show.
Total purchases came to £1.6billion in the year to May - up 4.7% on the previous 12 months, according to market research company Circana.
Meanwhile, Nestlé reported more than 274 million units had been bought by 21.6 million people.
The British Frozen Food Federation said new flavours had been proving very popular, with matcha (green tea), ginger, blue bubble gum and ube - a purple yam - hitting the market.
