Crash deaths rise as UK experts join investigation

THE death toll from the crash of a London-bound Air India flight has risen to 274 as British experts arrive in Ahmedabad to help the investigation.

All bar one of the 230 passengers and 12 crew on board the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner were killed, including 52 British citizens.

At least 33 people were also killed on the ground when Flight 171 crashed into a residential building at BJ Medical College before going up in flames on Thursday.

Indian authorities confirmed that nine doctors and their relatives were among those killed on the ground.
