Youngest MP Mhairi lands cop role in TV drama

FORMER SNP MP Mhairi Black has a new role - acting in a BBC Scotland legal drama being partly funded by a government quango.

Excited... Ms Black thrilled at TV role

Ms Black has largely turned her back on politics since stepping down as an MP. Instead, she has ventured into entertainment.

She performed a stand-up show at the Edinburgh Festival which was panned by critics, with one calling it "toothless and trivial". She also did a show at the Glasgow International Comedy Festival.

Now she has joined the cast of TV series Counsels in which she will play a police detective.
