'Whizz Kidz have given her independence ...she's more confident, a little warrior'

THE megawatt smile says it all - there's no stopping little Robyn Perry since she was given a life-changing personalised manual wheelchair that brought her precious independence.

The four-year-old is paralysed from the waist down, having been born with spina bifida myelomeningocele.

It meant she had to be carried everywhere or pushed in a pram, because the NHS could not provide a small-enough wheelchair.

But now she has greater freedom thanks to Whizz Kidz, the children’s wheelchair charity backed by this year's Express Christmas appeal.

Mum Steph, 42, said: “It has been amazing. I never thought she would get a wheelchair because Robin has kyphosis of the spine, it’s like a big lump on the bottom of her back.

“Whizz Kidz have given her independence - she’s like a totally different child, more confident. Even her teachers could see it. She's a little warrior, and now she’s unstoppable.”
