WES WANTS SCOTS CALL

WES GOOSEN is dreaming of becoming eligible for Scotland in time for the next World Cup after penning a new two-year contract with Edinburgh.

The 29-year-old full-back was born in South Africa and raised in New Zealander from the age of four. He has no blood links to Scotland but can qualify to play for Gregor Townsend’s side under the five-year residency rule.

Having joined the Gunners in 2022, Goosen would be able to pull on the dark blue jersey at the 2027 World Cup in Australia if he fulfils his club contract.

The former All Blacks Under-20 cap has played every minute for Edinburgh this season and is in line to make his 50th appearance in tomorrow’s home Challenge Cup tie against the Lions.
