DUNDEE UNITED manager Jim Goodwin has ramped up his striker search, with both Zac Sapsford and Max Watters facing spells on the sidelines.

Sapsford has already been ruled out for up to four weeks with ankle ligament damage, while United expect to find out the extent of his strike partner’s hamstring injury in the next 24 hours.

That has left 18-year-old Owen Stirton as their only fit striker and Goodwin is eyeing the transfer market to bolster his options ahead of his side’s next fixture against Dundee at Dens Park on August 31.

Head of recruitment Ross Goodwin is currently in talks with a couple of targets.
