Two ambulance service workers arrested over the deaths of six people

Pair suspended and remain on conditional bail

TWO ambulance trust workers have been arrested following the deaths of six people, police revealed yesterday.

The probe was launched in 2023 and a man in his 30s was detained last year on suspicion of six counts of gross negligence manslaughter and four counts of ill-treatment or wilful neglect by a care worker.

A woman of 59 was arrested in March this year on suspicion of gross negligence manslaughter. Both were employed by the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust, and remain on conditional bail.
