Trio of stars are out as Steyn and Dobie come in for Scots

GREGOR TOWNSEND has gone for form not fame in his Scotland team to play Italy tomorrow.

- BY STUART BATHGATE

The head coach has picked Glasgow’s Kyle Steyn and Jamie Dobie to start on the wings in the Six Nations match in Rome and left out the country's all-time-record try-scorers, Edinburgh pair Darcy Graham and Duhan van der Merwe.

And it is a similar story at fullback. Ex-Warriors player Tom Jordan, now with Bristol, is in. And 63-times-capped ex-Edinburgh man Blair Kinghorn now with six-time European champions Toulouse - is out.

In all, there are NINE Warriors players in the starting 15 and another five on the bench. That reflects the brilliant season that Franco Smith's team have had so far - they are top of the URC and won their Champions Cup pool with maximum points.
