Rohl rallies Gers after capital low

DANNY ROHL thought he'd be walking out this weekend to see Ibrox ablaze with energy and belief - but that was until Hearts doused Rangers’ fire at Tynecastle.

Gers travelled east on Sunday hoping to reignite a Premiership title challenge that long ago appeared to have been trampled into the ashes by the disastrous start made under Russell Martin.

It took Rohl’s appointment in October for Rangers to finally produced a spark, with the German gaffer kicking off his own reign with an eight-game unbeaten run.

Another victory in Edinburgh would have really turned the heat up on Derek McInnes’ table-topping Jambos, closing the Light Blues’ deficit to six points with a game in hand.

But those hopes flickered out in Gorgie as high-octane Hearts overpowered powderpuff Gers.

It's a victory that has lit a match in the capital, turning what was cautious optimism now into outright belief that McInnes’ men can go all the way.
