'The coward who murdered my son says he's sorry... but he just feels sorry for himself'

THE mother of murdered Stephen Lawrence has called one of her son’s killers a “coward” who is too dangerous too be freed.

A parole hearing is under way for David Norris, 49, who was convicted of Stephen’s murder in 2011 and jailed the following year.

When giving evidence he repeatedly refused to name the other attackers when A-level student Stephen, 18, was stabbed to death in 1993.

Baroness Doreen Lawrence said of Norris: “The only person he feels sorry for is himself, He is a coward. He refused to show his face. He needs to look me in the eye and tell me exactly what he did and why.”

Norris’s parole hearing at a prison was video-streamed to the Royal Courts of Justice to be observed.
