CAMPAIGNERS have demanded the UK Government protect traditional television channels after ministers confirmed signals could be turned off in 2034.

Media minister Stephanie Peacock warned digital terrestrial television, also known as Freeview, was becoming increasingly unaffordable as more viewers switched to services provided over the internet.
