Swinney refutes failings in education

THE First Minister was branded “delusional” after he insisted there have been no SNP failures in education over the past 18 years.

John Swinney’s party has presided over plummeting exam results, a widening attainment gap, plus schools falling down international league tables, since taking over the Scottish Executive.

There are rising levels of violence in classrooms with schools hamstrung on how to discipline pupils due to exclusions and expulsions being frowned on by the SNP.

Mr Swinney even faced a vote of no confidence when he was Education Secretary.
