'Sturgeon insulted the women of Scotland and now she must apologise'

Critics hit out at former FM for her defence of reforms
NICOLA STURGEON has been told she owes the women of Scotland an apology for insulting them over the years through her defence of gender reforms.
Judges at the UK Supreme Court unanimously ruled that the definition of a woman and sex in the Equality Act relates to “a biological woman and biological sex”.
It was a massive humiliation for the Nationalists, after years of policy-making underpinned by the principle that trans women should be regarded as women.
Gender reforms were initially spearheaded by Ms Sturgeon, who did not respond to the court’s decision and faced calls to apologise from old SNP rival Joanna Cherry.
She said: “I’m a long-term feminist. I’m a lesbian who came out in the 80s and campaigned against Section 28.
“I’ve had to put up with my own party leader, Nicola Sturgeon, calling me a bigot and a transphobe for sticking up for the rights of women and lesbians. I think she owes all of us, not just me, and more importantly the women of Scotland, an apology.
Wrong
“I’d like to see her on camera, acknowledging this judgement, and admitting that she got it wrong.”
