Seven men guilty of doorstep murder

SEVEN men face life in prison after shooting dead a father-of-three on his own doorstep.

Neil Canney was gunned down following apparent allegations of a trivial act of vandalism.

The 37-year-old was shot in the head and died a short time after in Inverclyde on February 28, 2023, when the victim went to his front door thinking a friend was among a group outside.

Instead he was shot as eight shots were fired at him while his mother and young children cowered in terror inside.

Yesterday, a jury at the High Court in Glasgow found six defendants guilty of murder.
