Raise the Lord...church tower is elevated 45ft

BUILDERS have balanced a 700-yearold church tower on 45ft tall stilts to burrow beneath its site for a skyscraper in the City of London.
The grade I-listed tower, which survived the Great Fire of London in 1666, is all that remains of All Hallows Staining Church. Staining means stone.
