Putin: Let Zelensky come to Moscow if he wants to make a deal

VLADIMIR Putin has invited Volodymyr Zelensky for face-to-face peace talks - but only if the Ukrainian president goes to Moscow.

The Russian despot made the poisoned-chalice offer during a press conference in Beijing at the end of his visit to China.

He said of the possibility of meeting Mr Zelensky: "I've never refused to do that, if it leads to positive outcomes.

"Donald [Trump] asked me if it was possible and I said it was possible. I said, let him come to Moscow."

Putin said a deal could end the war, adding there was "light at the end of the tunnel".
