Primark boss quits over 'inappropriate behaviour'

Share price plunge after allegations by female colleague

PRIMARK boss Paul Marchant yesterday quit over an "error of judgment" after a colleague made allegations of inappropriate behaviour.

The married father-of-two, 53, stepped down as chief executive of the global fashion giant with immediate effect following an investigation, parent company Associated British Foods announced.

It said the incident related to "his behaviour in a social environment" and Mr Marchant who joined Primark in 2009 - "acknowledged his error of judgment and accepts his actions fell below the standards expected by ABF".
