Pension rise wiped out by higher bills

THE state pension triple lock increase is set to be largely wiped out by winter fuel cuts and rising bills, according to new analysis.

This month, the basic allowance for those who started collecting their pension before April 2016 rose by £361.40 a year under the triple lock.

But Liberal Democrat research shows this is virtually all gone on rising bills and the loss of the winter fuel allowance.
