Obi lightsaber fetches £289k at film auction

A LIGHTSABER used by Scottish screen star Ewan McGregor has become the most valuable Star Wars prequel item after it sold at auction for a whopping £289,000.
Lightsaber: Aimed by Ewan McGregor
McGregor played the iconic role of Obi-Wan Kenobi in the popular films that explain events prior to the original Hollywood trilogy.
The prop lightsaber sold was one wielded by McGregor in the production of Star Wars: Episode 1 The Phantom Menace (1999).
The prop elicited such a high bid thanks to a letter of authenticity signed by legendary filmmaker George Lucas.
