SUCCESS TORY: Nisbet has stepped up since Dons move

JIMMY THELIN believes Kevin Nisbet has shown at Aberdeen that he is so much more than just a goalscorer.

The Scotland international was named as the Pittodrie players’ player of the year.

Nisbet is the Dons’ top marksman with 13 goals, but the thing which has really impressed Thelin and his team-mates is the work he is putting in to not only score but also to defend from the front.

The striker is currently on loan from Millwall but will return south in the summer with the Dons unlikely to have the financial muscle to do a permanent deal amidst strong interest from England and Europe.

Thelin acknowledged: “Yes, he has grown since he arrived after some hard work and with him getting more comfortable with the team and these kinds of things.

“He has also grown in terms of leadership and taking responsibility on the pitch.
