Nats told to tackle nation's pothole scourge

THE SNP Government has been urged not to fall behind England when it comes to tackling the pothole scourge.

Sir Keir Starmer announced plans to punish councils if they don’t make progress in fixing their crumbling roads, with funding potentially being withheld.

Scotland’s roads are also in a horrendous state, with over 400,000 potholes reported to local authorities since 2021.

Nationalist inaction and lack of funding has been blamed for the craters in the asphalt.

Westminster created a Pothole Repair Fund for councils south of the border, with funds standing at £1.6billion.
