'My partner went under the wheel ...it was terror, pure terror'

Police face questions over how a driver entered the crowded road in the first place, even before breaching a cordon. Online video showed a car move slowly along as crowds tried to pull a man out and stop it, shouting: "What are you doing?"

It accelerates into the throng and supporters are flung over the bonnet. When it stops, angry fans surge forward hitting it, throwing bottles and screaming, "Kill him" as others try to lift the car to rescue people trapped under its wheels.

Daniel Eveson, from Telford, Shrops, was hit in the chest, his partner "dragged down the road" and their son's pram thrown 15ft.

He said: "My partner went under the wheel and the car went over her leg. It was terror, pure terror." She was taken to hospital and he was awaiting her release last night.

After the "worst day of my life", he says he will never attend another football parade.
