M6 crash hero recounts saving life of boy, aged 7

Five people were killed in the inferno, including two children, and yesterday an inquest heard harrowing details about the immediate aftermath of the collision.

Arran McEnroe was the only person not to die in the smash after he was pulled from the wreckage.

The incident occurred on the northbound carriageway of the M6 in Cumbria last October when Richard Woods, drove the wrong way for almost one minute before his Skoda ploughed straight into a Toyota Yaris just north of Tebay services killing the 40-year-old instantly.

The Yaris was being driven by Jaroslaw Rossa who, along with his two boys, Filip, 15 and seven-year-old Dominic were killed.

The 42-year-old's partner, Jade McEnroe, 33, also died in the horrific incident.

They had been heading home to Glasgow after a school-holiday break visit to Legoland in Windsor.

Ms McEnroe's seven-year-old son, Arran survived, thanks to the quick thinking of Gavin Walsh.

He was a passenger in a transit van travelling directly behind the group when Woods' car drove straight into it.
