THREE of the most senior figures in Scotland’s Jewish community have hit out at politicians for “inflammatory and irresponsible” comments about Israel and Gaza following the Manchester synagogue atrocity.

- By Richard Elias

They spoke out as the two victims killed in the terror attack were named as Adrian Daulby, 53, and 66-year-old Melvin Cravitz.

Mr Daulby, and father-of-three Yoni Finlay were both accidentally shot by police as they helped hero Rabbi Daniel Walker barricade the door to protect those inside.

Mr Finlay has non-life threatening injuries, while two more are also in hospital with serious injuries.

Meanwhile, thousands of pro-Palestine people are determined to demonstrate today despite the raw emotion felt by the Jewish community following the tragedy.

Prayers

‘The attack by Islamic terror group Hamas on Israel close to two years ago sparked a vicious response that continues to this day.

As a result, high-profile pro-Palestinian protests have taken place around the world, prompting a slew of rhetoric from people from all walks of life.

Incidents of attacks against Jewish people and their property have soared, leaving many in fear of what the future holds for their families.

Sadly, Scotland’s Jews have not avoided vitriolic attacks.
