Labour's UK 'disappointing' insists war hero

SECOND World War hero Mervyn Kersh said Britain had been reduced to a “disappointing” country under Labour.

The Jewish D-Day soldier, who stormed Nazi-held France in 1944 and later helped liberate Bergen-Belsen concentration camp, is appalled at the scourge of rising antisemitism.

And in a warning to our leaders, the 101-year-old said he can see chilling similarities between today and when war erupted in 1939.

Mervyn, awarded a British Empire Medal in the New Year Honours, said: “What is disappointing is antisemitism that I see everywhere, hear everywhere, or read. There'd be no need for a war now, we’ve got the wrong attitude. It’s disappointing what’s turned out now.”
