Kerr will bid to stop Flynn joining SNP's Holyrood gravy train

A TORY frontbencher has been chosen to try to stop Stephen Flynn’s journey to Holyrood as voters are urged to reject “SNP neglect”.

The Nats’ Westminster leader has muscled his way on to the ballot for the Holyrood election next year.

The Aberdeen South MP is look-ing to swap London for Edinburgh having successfully won the nomi-nation for the Aberdeen Deeside and North Kincardine seat.

Standing in his way is Liam Kerr, the Tories' justice spokesman.

Mr Kerr came close to winning the seat, formerly called Aberdeen South and North Kincardine, in 2021, finishing just 1,671 behind Audrey Nicoll, who opted not to seek re-election after Mr Flynn unveiled plans to oust her as the SNP candidate.

While the Tories are losing sup-port to Reform UK, the North East remains a core region for the Tories.

While Mr Flynn won the Aberdeen South seat at last year’s general election, Andrew Bowie won the West Aberdeenshire and Kincardine seat, which comprises part of the Holyrood ward, for the Tories.
