“It’s only a short-term thing — but coming away with the national team gives me a good chance to get the games in.

“The Iceland game wasn’t a great experience. It was a difficult time all round, knowing I was out of contract going into it and then picking up an injury.

“It was a big worry. Thankfully, the injury wasn’t too serious and I was back training after a few months.

“Going into Forest, I was a bit behind and I only went there a week before the season began. But in the last few weeks, I’ve been working hard and I feel really good.

“What's it like not playing? I’ve had experience of it in the past so I’ve learned from that.

“I’m still training at a club every day with top players who are unbelievable.
