Dons hero Devlin has no issues with grinding out ugly victories
NICKY DEVLIN reckons being “rubbish” and winning is not a bad trait after Aberdeen continued their revival with a smash-and-grab win at Livingston.
The defender refused to gloss over what was largely a disappointing display in West Lothian after the Dons were put under the cosh by their hosts for long spells.
A combination of luck and a blunt Livi attack worked in the visitors’ favour after Devlin headed in an 80th-minute winner against his old club.
It was a fifth league win from seven games for Jimmy Thelin's side, who are now on the coattails of the top six, and Devlin was delighted they could get the three points by any means possible.
He said: “To be honest we were rubbish from the very start, probably because Livingston were really good, especially in the first half.
“They made it really difficult for us and we couldn't get to grips with them at all.
