A FABULOUS gold filigree and rock crystal jar made for a bishop in the ninth century is to go on show for the first time.
The 2in jar is part of the Viking-era Galloway Hoard, a collection of objects from the Anglo-Saxon kingdoms, Ireland and lands as far flung as Asia.
Kingdom
It was buried near Kirkcudbright in Dumfries and Galloway around 900AD but unearthed by a detectorist in 2014.
