IT crash brings flights chaos

FESTIVE getaways were thrown into chaos yesterday when an IT crash saw all flights at Edinburgh Airport suspended for several hours.
Airport bosses issued a statement at 9.30am reading: “Due to an IT issue with our air traffic control provider, no flights are currently operating from Edinburgh Airport.”
However, some passengers said they had been stuck since before 7am.
The airport - the busiest in Scotland, with 15 million passengers passing through last year - said flights were able to resume at around 10.40am.
A further statement said: “Flights have now resumed following the IT issue with our air traffic control provider. We thank passengers for their patience and understanding.”
