Gers could make millions if Nico shines for Belgium
WHEN Barry Ferguson joked that Nico Raskin’s stunning upturn in form was “the difference I’ve made to him in two-and-a-half weeks” it was hard not to think there was a modicum of truth to his quip.
And for Rangers, the good news is that the duo will have at least another two months working together.
Ferguson might face mission impossible delivering silverware in his caretaker manager role until the end of the season.
But the ex-Gers captain can use all of his influence to ensure there's silver of another sort heading in the direction of Ibrox in the not too distant future.
If he continues to polish gems like Raskin, the club can cash in when the time is right. And that time might be a lot closer than some Gers fans might like to think.
The 24-year-old Belgian’s form in recent weeks has been as bright as anything at Ibrox in what has been a season that's failed to illuminate.
