HOW TO GET AHEAD THIS HAYFEVER SEASON

The hayfever season typically runs from late March until September, and with symptoms starting to ramp up now, experts say it's is a good time to kick in the preventative treatments.

Dr Jonathan Webster, a Doctify-rated GP, explains: “The key with treating hayfever symptoms is managing patients’ expectations... helping to modify the symptoms. I'd recommend using a combination of steroid nasal sprays, antihistamine eye drops, and also taking an antihistamine. However, it's worth noting the need to start treatments early, so that medications have time to build up effectiveness.
